The sweet-toothed among the crowds this festive season can expect a treat at Crofts Chocolates next week where a giant chocolate snowman will help raise funds and awareness of a local charity!
The 7ft chocolate statue will be in place from 14th November at Crofts in Newborough in support of Willows Lull, the Scarborough-based children’s charity that offers respite care for children living with life-limiting and complex medical needs.
Customers can take ‘selfies’ with the snowman, make a donation to Willows Lull or take part in the Willows Lull Christmas raffle, which has three great prizes up for grabs donated by Crofts. These include a chocolate hamper worth £75 as the main prize, a hamper worth £25 for the second prize and the third is a large chocolate Santa figure.
Karen Porter, Registered Manager of Willows Lull said that the charity are delighted to be working alongside the charity in the run up to Christmas. “The funds raised will go towards a minibus that will help us to provide our children and families with transport and enable us to take our children on trips to help make many happy memories.”
Alex Grant, co-owner of Crofts, said: “We are delighted to support such a wonderful cause which is based right here in Scarborough.
“The work the Willows Lull team does is amazing and we are delighted to help with the raffle prizes. We also donate £1 from the sale of our large chocolate Santas and Snowmen in the shop, so there are a number of ways our customers can offer their support.”
The giant chocolate snowman will be in place at Crofts Chocolates, 28 Newborough from 4pm during the Christmas Lights Switch On event on Thursday 14th November and will be in place over the festive period.
