Introducing an Instafoodie – Hannahfindsfood

Here at Wine & Dine Yorkshire we have launched a brand new feature that gives our readers the chance to meet an instafoodie! An instafoodie is a someone with a dedicated Instagram page for all things food and drink, which we love here at Wine & Dine! Foodies of Instagram blog about their favourite restaurants, meals and drinks, trying out the latest restaurants and trends for their followers.

Our first instafoodie featured is Hannah Hall, who you can find on Instagram at ‘hannahfindsfood’. Hannah has over 5,000 followers and mainly reviews food in Leeds and York as well as cooking up some great recipes.

Wine & Dine Yorkshire had a chat with Hannah to find out more about her and her love for wining and dining.

When did you start your instagram page?
I started my account in April 2019.

Why did you want to become a food blogger?
I have always loved food whether that is cooking and baking or dining out. I had my first ever fine dining experience in Rome six or seven years ago and then it grew from there. It was then actually a colleague at work who mentioned her running account that triggered me to think about blogging about food and drink.

What do you love the most about food and drink?
The creativity of it, whether that’s flavour combinations or the theatre that comes with a cocktail there is so much to experience. And although it is difficult now, I do love the social element of it, cooking cosy home comfort food, grabbing some tasty street food or going out to celebrate a special occasion. This is all based around food!

Where is your favourite place you have visited?
This is a tough one, so I am going to give two answers – for casual dining it has to be Yuzu Street Food in York they a little indie company with two sites and the food is incredible. For fine dining I think it has the be Home in Leeds, the whole experience from start to finish both times we have visited has been amazing.

What do you enjoy most about blogging?
Obviously I love trying new food and visiting new places, I have a never ending list of places to review. I also very much enjoy seeing people trying out venues I have visited or trying a recipe I have shared. I also get asked regularly for recommendations from local people for special occasions or from people visiting the area, it’s lovely to chat about the food with like minded people.

What is your proudest achievement since you started your page?
I have had lots of opportunities to work with some really big brands, the fact these companies recognise value in my photography and my opinions means so much but also being able to support start up and small businesses makes me proud as well.

What would you say to someone thinking about creating an instagram foodie page?
If you love it and feel passionate about it, do it. That’s exactly why I started, it just so happens that a few other people like to see my thoughts about it as well.

What are your plans for the future?
To carry on, through lock down I have been working on my photography skills and I plan to continue doing that. I have also introduced my own cooking and recipes due the current circumstances, I really enjoy styling and shooting that content too! I would love to do that for others in the future so who knows where Hannah Finds Food will take me!
