A Leeds based entrepreneur is bringing one of the UK’s fast-growing gin events to Yorkshire for the first time.
Jasmine Wheelhouse, founder of The Gin Fayre, has announced that Wetherby Town Hall will host the region’s first Gin Fayre during the May Bank Holiday weekend.
Between 12pm and 8pm visitors will enjoy a selection of offerings from some of the world’s finest distilleries, alongside masterclasses, cocktails, goody bags and free samples.
The Gin Fayre has already hosted five sell-out events across Scotland in 2017 and has added a further eleven events to the diary in 2018, including several across the north of England.
The Gin Fayre Wetherby will be home to a variety of gin brands from across Yorkshire, including Cooper King Distillery, Greystone Gin from The Harewood Food & Drink Project, Raisthorpe Manor and brands from further afield including Ink Gin from Australia.
The Gin Fayre brings together craft distilleries from cross the UK under one roof so that gin lovers and newbies alike are able to try, find and buy a new favourite tipple. Visitors not only enjoy hours of glorious gin tasting but can also have the privilege of talking directly to the distillers.
Founder of The Gin Fayre, Jasmine Wheelhouse commented: “My heart and roots have always been in Yorkshire, which is why we’ve decided to bring the event to three locations in the county, starting with Wetherby.
“The Gin Fayre gives people the opportunity to try before they buy, as we as offer the distillers a direct route to market. It was created with people in mind who want to learn more about what they are drinking, the flavours, varieties and the process of distilling gin, without the price of buying numerous bottles from the supermarket.”
The Gin Fayre Wetherby will take place at the Town Hall on Sunday 6 May 2018 – tickets can be bought online at www.ginfayre.co.uk
If you can’t make the Wetherby event, there are other Yorkshire Gin Fayre’s coming up:
