Bottomless Party – Manahatta Merrion Street, Leeds

Lockdown is beginning to ease, the bars and restaurants are opening and you may have missed your bottomless brunch fix! Our features writer Ellie Atack, went to try out Manahatta’s Bottomless Party on the first day the bar re-opened.

At £29.95 for a main and bottomless drinks for 90 minutes, the deal is extremely good value for money, where you often pay more for a decent meal and a couple of drinks. The deal is on daily from 4pm and is perfect for couples or a group of friends celebrating a special occasion.

The drinks available are Prosecco, Aperol Spritz or pints of Coors, which can be mix and matched but only one drink at a time can be had.

However, the staff are very attentive and were quick to top up any empty glasses. As we visited on the first day of re-opening we were very impressed with the staff’s attentiveness and awareness of their own safety and ours.

Our food order was taken and arrived not long after ordering. Our choices were, Steak Frites which was strips of fillet steak, skin on and sweet potato fries, fried onions, garlic mushrooms, melted cheese, crispy shallots and peppercorn sauce. My partner absolutely loved these and to quote him ‘I could eat them all day!’ The steak was cooked to perfection and melted in your mouth, complemented by the crunchy skin on fries and creamy sauce.

I opted for the Manahatta Club Wrap, chargrilled chicken with pancetta, tomato, cheese, mayo and skin on fries. Again, this was a lovely dish and both meals were the perfect size to fill you up but not leave you too full so you could still enjoy the unlimited drinks.

Manahatta itself was full, and everyone seemed to be obeying the new rules set out. The atmosphere was somewhat different to what it usually is on a Saturday night as no-one can be up dancing or standing at the bar, however, the place still had a buzz and everyone was enjoying their night.
