Tasty tapas that leaves you wanting more

Wine & Dine Yorkshire was invited to try out the new Autumn/Winter menu at Las Iguanas, located opposite the corn exchange in Leeds.

The menu is extremely large with a choice of tapas or large plates from Brazil, Mexico, Argentina or Cuba. As well as an extensive menu, there is also dairy free, nut free, gluten free, vegan and vegetarian options, a fixed-price menu and a lunch menu. Basically, Las Iguanas caters for all!

As a table for three, we thought it would be perfect to try out the tapas and have a variety of dishes to sample and get stuck in!

The fact that cocktails are 2-4-1 all day, every day was a big appeal for us! This was the perfect place to have a catch up with friends and enjoy a variety of cocktails without breaking the bank!

We chose some cocktails whilst picking which tapas we would like. The cocktails were Huana Party, Tutti Fruity and Caribbean Clover Club. The cocktails went down a treat and were even better since it was 2-4-1!

Now it was time for food. Five tapas dishes are £26.95 before 7pm, which is great value, especially if you are sharing.

We chose Nachos, Honey Peri-Peri Chicken Wings, Chicken Quesadilla, Brazillian Fried Chicken, Calamares.

The nachos were topped with melted cheese, salsa, jalapenos, sour cream and roasted tomato salsa. These were lovely but as we were all huge nacho fans – we just wanted a large amount of cheese!

The Honey Peri-Peri Chicken Wings went down a treat, as well as very messy! These went perfect with our cocktails and were great to nibble in between having a good chat with friends.

A Mexican favourite of mine, the Chicken Quesadilla had a spicy kick to them, and I could’ve eaten ten!

The Brazillian Fried Chicken was chicken marinated in buttermilk with a crispy spice-crumb. These were our favourite and were delicious, perfect with the Amarillo Aioli.

Lastly, we devoured the Calamares, crispy squid sprinkled with seaweed salt and again served with the gorgeous aioli.

Overall, this tapas offer is brilliant and is perfect for if you are wanting to try a variety of dishes and want to share. The small plates are generous but we also ordered a side of sweet potato fries so there is plenty of sides to also chose from if you want to add more to your meal.

The service was great and the relaxed feel of the restaurant made us feel at home and nothing was too much trouble.
