This may come as a surprise to many London- based coffee connoisseurs, who have thousands of tourists from all over the world visiting their shops week in week out…
However new research has revealed that it is in fact Steam Yard in Sheffield that comes out on top, with a whopping 8,345 Instagram posts in total published by its many loving fans.
Delicately tucked away in Aberdeen Court, Steam Yard is a cosy establishment that’s best known for its delicious cakes, doughnuts and coffee… and now for its incredible reputation on the ‘gram!
And not far behind in fourth place, also representing Yorkshire was Leeds’ Laynes Espresso, with a pretty impressive 2,739 posts.
Carried out by Shredall SDS Group, this research is perfect for those who love good coffee places but despise chain coffee outlets. As well as highlighting independent venues across the country that are beloved by users of the ‘gram, it also reveals the cities with the most Instagrammed coffee shops across the UK.
As well as achieving widespread popularity on social media, many of the independent coffee shops analysed as part of this research have made commitments to reduce their impact on the environment. Their environmental initiatives include promises to source their coffee in sustainable ways and use coffee cups that are easily recyclable.
