Lucia restaurant in York reopened last weekend on Sunday 9th February after a £800,000 refurbishment.
The restaurant’s transformation has taken four weeks to complete, with over 60 people being involved in the project.
The new walls of Lucia have been decorated with handmade wallpaper from Italy, giving it a decadent and stylish new look. The brand new furniture has been also imported from around the world.
Another new edition is the patisserie and coffee shop area, including a gift shop.
The Initial budget of £500,000 soon crept up to £800,000 as the owners added more and more features to increase the exclusiveness of the venue.
The relaunch marks the restaurant’s 11th anniversary, and the Swine Gate restaurant owner Oscar Akgul has shown appreciation to the local residents for their support: “York people have been very kind to us and we are very grateful. “We think this is the most beautiful restaurant in York, but that is our opinion!”
To celebrate the reopening, Lucia have launched their new lunch offer, of two meals and drinks for £20, with a new menu coming soon.
