Yorkshire Spa Retreat announces opening of its restaurant – The Dome

Yorkshire Spa Retreat, the new and unique lodge park to hit Yorkshire, has just announced the opening of the stunning new bar and restaurant – The Dome – for lodge guests and non-residents. The 80-cover restaurant is housed within two “domes” and will soon provide scenic views across the park’s natural swim pond and landscaped gardens and features an outdoor dining den for private parties.

Open seven days a week (Monday 4pm-11pm and Tuesday – Sunday 12pm–11pm), The Dome is a great place for casual drinks with friends, an evening meal with the family or a pit stop to refuel during a country walk. The diverse menu, created by chef Stefan Rares-Burducea, focuses on locally sourced produce and features traditional Sunday roasts, charcuterie sharing boards, vegetarian platters and cream teas. Popular dishes include:

  • Shroom scallops with King oyster mushrooms, artichoke puree, pickled tarragon and sunflower seeds
  • Braised beef cheeks with Yorkshire pudding
  • Roasted artichoke risotto

Chef Stefan is a Yorkshire resident who moved to the UK from Romania in 2016. His career began in 2013, with Stefan reaching the final stage of Masterchef in Romania, and has seen him train alongside Michelin star and industry respected chefs including Adam Jackson and Paul Owens. And he now brings this experience forward to create a friendly and relaxed dining concept.

Stefan explained: “The Dome’s menu is a true tribute to Yorkshire. I wanted to explore the ingredients that the county is known for, and create food that celebrates the area. Myself and the team have worked hard to devise a menu that will really impress our guests but also appeal to a diverse audience. I want to see groups of friends enjoying the space with a bottle of wine, walkers tucking into cream teas and families sitting down to enjoy a Sunday roast.”

This December will also see the launch of The Dome’s Festive Menu, which includes:

  • roast turkey breast with sage and apricot stuffing
  • oven baked cod served with chorizo and white beans cassoulet
  • butternut squash and sage ravioli with pumpkin sauce, parmesan and truffle oil
  • Christmas Pudding, brandy sauce and orange peel
  • Guinness Sticky Toffee Pudding with salted caramel sauce and vanilla ice cream.

And on Christmas Day, guests can enjoy a premium Christmas Dinner, which includes a champagne and canape reception.

The Helmsley-based luxury spa development is set in the splendour of the North Yorkshire Moors countryside and promises a distinctive experience that combines the natural world with luxury holiday lodges, traditional dining options and sophisticated spa. Set in over 11-acres of rolling Yorkshire parkland, this haven of tranquillity provides holiday makers with an ideal place to relax and unwind whilst enjoying the open countryside.

The area surrounding Yorkshire Spa Retreat is made up of a number of national parks with an abundance of country walks. Just a short drive away is Castle Howard, Rievaulx Abbey, the highly acclaimed market town of Helmsley and the bustling city of York – home to Michelin star restaurants, boutique gift shops and historic sites.
