Yorkshire’s most fantastic farm shops

Who doesn’t love a good farm shop, full of fresh, local produce and artisan delights? We’ve put together some of the ones we love the most, which is your favourite?

Cannon Hall Farm Shop
Bark House Lane, Cawthorne, Barnsley S75 4AT
This shop’s specialities are fantastic, locally reared meat as well as award winning pies. It’s one of Yorkshire’s biggest and most popular farm shops.

Drewton’s, South Cave
The Drewton Estate, South Cave, Near Brough HU15 2AG
Placing emphasis on local growers, this farm shop and deli stocks produce from more than 250 local farmers and celebrating Yorkshire is at its heart.

Rhubarb Triangle Farm Shop, Wakefield
Green End Farm, Carlton, Wakefield, WF3 3QR
Pickles, soups, flapjacks and tiffin, the Rhubarb Triangle Farm Shop provides enough variety to satisfy even the most picky foodies.

Home Farm, Beningbrough
Beningbrough Home Farm, Beningbrough, York YO30 1DB
This family run shop is known for its Aberdeen Angus beef, which is reared by husband Alistair Jackson and sold by his wife, Lucy, at the farm shop.

Farmer Copleys Farm shop, Purston
Ravensknowle Farm, Pontefract Road, Purston WF7 5AF
Farmer Copleys started as a dairy farm 140 years ago and now has a fantastic farm shop, where you will find liquorice produced especially for the shop, as well as countless artisan products sourced from within the county.

Fodder, Harrogate
Great Yorkshire Showground, HG2 8NZ
Run and championed by the Yorkshire Agricultural Society, this shop was Britain’s first charitable food hall and all profits are reinvested back into the community. A wonderful showcase of everything great about Yorkshire.

Blacker Hall Farm Shop, Wakefield
Branch Road, Calder Grove, Wakefield, WF4 3DN
Around 70 per cent of what is sold at this shop is made on site with award-winning, seasonal produce from its own farm as well as other local farms. There’s also a great café if you want to stay for a leisurely lunch.

Bert’s Barrow, Hillam
Austfield Farm, Austfield Lane, Hillam, Leeds, LS25 5NQ
Started up by Marlene and Ian (Bert) Thompson with a cart and an honesty box at the side of the road, they sold locally sourced, seasonal vegetables in aid of the village defibrillator. The barrows are still there today but so is a lovely shop, with over 85 per cent of produce smoked, baked, grown or made in Yorkshire.
