Steel Yard Sheffield to host inaugural three-day festive party

Steel Yard Sheffield’s exciting Kelham development is set to host a festive 3-day party this December.

Steel Yard Sheffield’s new business, retail and leisure development is at the heart of the city’s next flagship regeneration zone. Located on Bardwell Road, at the edge of Sheffield’s popular Kelham Island area, it will neighbour great brands such as Depot Bakery, Peddler Market, Cutlery Works, and Church – the Temple of Fun and the new £65M Ski Village development.

What is Steel Yard Kelham?
Steel Yard Kelham is structured over 2 floors made from up-cycled shipping containers with central open event space. The venue will create a vibrant community of 56 creative and innovative businesses, and has already received inquiries from local, regional and national boutique food and drink brands and artisans. They aim to open mid/late next year.

Urban Pizza Company, Pie Eyed and Sunshine Deli’s vegan café are among the new residence, as well as talk of an outdoor drive-through cinema and pop up market space in the courtyard area, a tattoo parlour, yoga lounge, childcare provider, dog groomer and male barbers.

The three-day event and everything you need to know
The launch weekend event is Steel Yard’s first family friendly monthly market, bringing together a diverse mix of food, music and cinema. The free event will run from Friday 13th to Sunday 15th December 2019.

Friday will play host to 10 street food traders including Sunshine Deli’s ‘vegan quarter,’ Urban Pizza Company and Pie Eyed.

Three DJs including Graeme Park headlining will play during the evenings with some funky old school sounds from 21.00 pm. A variety of bars and hot drink vendors including SplitSmiths mobile cocktail bar and Brews Brothers will be open all evening until 11pm Friday and Saturday.

Saturday will be a similar itinerary to Friday with the addition of festive cinema classics being played, and Sunday will see the venue transform into a Christmas Market, featuring a Santa’s Grotto and festive crafting with all takings going to Hallam FM’s Cash for Kids. (Open until 4pm)

After Christmas, The Weekend Monthly Market will become a regular event on the last weekend of every month from February at Steel Yard Sheffield.
