The Old Bridge Hotel in Holmfirth has reopened its doors following a £350K refurbishment by the award-winning Coaching Inn Group, recently named Hotel Group of the Year by Which?.
Found in the quaint town of Holmfirth, the hotel now exudes Regency-era charm with warm Yorkshire hospitality to create a picturesque destination for locals and visitors to relax and dine.
The hotel staff were joined by Mayor of Kirklees, Liz Smaje, at a reopening event on Friday 6th February, where friends, family and members of the community joined together to enjoy live music from Samedi, sample the modern new menu and experience a first look at the hotel.
The refreshed Old Bridge Hotel has completed a refurbishment of its 21 bedrooms and bathrooms, and the hotel’s public areas such as the bar, restaurant and conservatory and outdoor seating area, which overlooks the River Holme, has been given a revamp.
The hotel has updated its food menu to provide a modern feel, including some new dishes, such as delicious sharing boards, and some old favourites including the beef yorkie wrap and popular pub classics, prepared by the hotel’s new Head Chef, Daniel Garlick. As a nod to the town’s connection to Last of the Summer Wine, The Old Bridge will be pouring ‘Compo’s Lager’ and ‘Compo’s Session IPA’, as well as a signature cocktail, ‘Bloomin’ Nora’.
Jordan Burrows, General Manager at The Old Bridge Hotel in Holmfirth, comments: “We’re excited to welcome guests and locals back to a fully refreshed space. This refurbishment has helped us to plan how the hotel can continue to serve as a vibrant hub for the community as well as visitors to the area, and we’re proud to celebrate a new chapter for the hotel.”
Adam Charity, Managing Director of The Coaching Inn Group, adds: “The Old Bridge Hotel was the first hotel that we acquired, and we’re delighted to share this full-circle moment with guests new and old as we re-open its doors. This occasion comes at an exciting time for the group as we move into a new phase which focuses on growing a best-in-class premium inns and pubs with rooms business across the country. As we celebrate our 30th anniversary later this year, it’s wonderful to see the importance that this hotel has had on the local community.”
