The Potting Shed – Eat, drink and potter

The Potting Shed was founded in 2015, opening in Bingley initially, since then growing into a collection of four freehold pubs throughout Yorkshire in Beverley, Bingley, Guiseley and Northallerton. A place where plants and potting shed Bric-a-brac hang from the walls, and resident potters craft unusual concoctions.

Wine & Dine Yorkshire were invited over to sample the menu. Upon arrival, we were directed to our table, presented with the menu choices and given time to browse over the options.

The vibe was all about a lively and welcoming atmosphere which enhanced our dining experience, with its unique blend of calm and vibrant elements. From the moment we walked in, the staff were on point. Now, let’s dive into the good stuff:

Halloumi Fries (v) – £7.75
Strips of halloumi lightly fried until crisp, served with a sweet chilli dip.
The sweet chilli dip accompanied the perfectly fried halloumi beautifully.

Shed Black Pudding Stack – £8.25
A stack of black pudding with crispy sweetcure bacon, shredded mozzarella and smothered with a creamy pepper sauce.
For all the black pudding enthusiasts – this dish is your ultimate indulgence. Expertly cooked to perfection, it delivered a bold explosion of flavours with every single bite.

Yorkshire Pudding Wrap – £14.45
Rump steak and horseradish wrapped in a Yorkshire pudding served with chips and gravy.
I requested the steak medium-rare, and it arrived cooked to perfection—tender, flavourful, and elevated by the bold zing of horseradish in every bite.

Sizzling Chicken Fajitas – £14.95
Chicken fajitas served with bell peppers, onions, Cajun sauce, guacamole, sour cream and cheese.
Lovely portion size, the chicken was juicy and tender – a slice of heaven on a plate.

We unfortunately couldn’t manage a dessert, we were eager to try the Chocoholic 4 Layer Choc Fudge Cake £7.95, but unfortunately, we just didn’t leave enough room for it – but we will be back, and this will be top of our list alongside their famous wood fired pizzas, they looked amazing.
