Hot on the heels of its quirky cheese advent calendar, Asda is launching its first Easter Egg made of cheese.
The perfect Easter gift for cheese lovers, the Cheester Egg is made by Lancashire cheesemakers Butler’s, and is a 120g half dome of Blacksticks Blue cheese that comes in a box with a pack of mini oatcakes and a sachet of caramelised onion chutney.
James Clapham from Butler’s said: “It’s something a bit light-hearted, a bit of fun. We hope it will encourage more people to try blue cheese as this one is truly delicious.
Blacksticks Blue is milder and creamier than a traditional British blue cheese like Stilton, so if you’re not a fan of the mouldy stuff, this could be worth a try.
It has certainly caused a stir in the press and on social media, and the general consensus seems to be that the Cheester Egg is an ‘egg-cellent’ idea!
You can try it for yourself from 16th March when it will be available in selected Asda stores nationwide.
