Discover a classic pub in Doncaster

Located in the heart of Edenthorpe, The Eden Arms serves up delicious pub food and a wide selection of drinks in warm, welcoming surroundings. There’s a spacious beer garden too, perfect for soaking up the sun with a thirst-quenching drink.

Wine & Dine Yorkshire were invited to sample the menu and take a peek at the pub’s brand-new look after an extensive three-week refurbishment.

Upon arrival we instantly noticed the bar area had been refreshed and the dining room was noticeably larger. We were quickly directed to our table to peruse the menu.

For starters, it was a no-brainer. We opted for the Panko-Breaded Butterflied Prawns served with chipotle chilli relish (£5.99) and the Sticky Crispy Chicken glazed in chipotle chilli relish (£5.99). Both dishes were extremely tasty and a good size. A special mention goes to the prawns – the panko-breaded coating was extremely light and moreish with the prawns themselves cooked to absolute perfection – definitely a must-try.

For our main courses, we had Slow-Cooked Rib of Beef, served with potato gratin, fresh roasted root vegetables, steamed greens and a rich gravy (£16.49). The beef was absolutely beautiful, you could literally pull this apart with your fork. It was extremely tender and melted in your mouth.

The other main course we opted for was the Pulled Lamb Shepherd’s Pie topped with mashed potato and cheddar cheese served with steamed greens (£12.79). If you are a fan of creamy, cheesy mash, then this dish is for you. The pulled lamb was also a winner, another dish where the meat just melted in your mouth.

Fitting in a dessert was a struggle as a result of the generous portion sizes. The Sticky Toffee Pudding served with a choice of cream, ice cream or thick custard (£5.29) and the Belgian Chocolate Brownie served warm and topped with vanilla ice cream and chocolate sauce (£5.29) did jump out at us, but we had to talk ourselves into not ordering these as we were too full. But we will definitely be back to sample these on another occasion.

The Eden Arms offers a great value fixed price menu with three courses available for £11.49 Monday to Friday, 12pm-5pm, and £14.79 Monday to Friday after 5pm.

Located close to the A630, the Eden Arms is a great place for families to eat, drink, and relax after a long day exploring the Yorkshire Wildlife Park, South Yorkshire Aircraft Museum or Wheatley Golf Club.
