Supermarkets unveil Easter treats

Hot cross bun-flavoured fudge is a new one on us, and here at W&D we’re more than willing to give it a try. Well, Easter is just around the corner…

Available now in store and online at Morrison’s, the sweet treat is made with Italian orange and lemon peel, sultanas and a sprinkling of cinnamon spice.

And while they’re certainly not good news for the diet-conscious, we can confirm that the pieces of butter fudge taste heavenly, if a little sickly after a while.

The treats are part of Morrison’s premium range and cost a reasonable £2 for a 150g box, making them virtuous on the purse, if not the waistline.

Asda meanwhile, has unveiled a new range of hot cross bun flavours including Extra Fruity, All Butter Fudge, Belgian Chocolate and Triple Berry. A ‘Free From’ version has also returned, meaning those with a gluten and wheat intolerance don’t miss out.
