Leading independent brewer, Innis & Gunn, hosted a truly original two day event in Leeds this weekend, in celebration of their beer, The Original.
Matured over time using Single Malt Whisky casks, The Original is a beer to sip and savour, something attendees were encouraged to do throughout the two-night event at Light Space in Meanwood, with various experiential elements to be enjoyed, all centered around the theme of time.
The soundtrack for the event was vinyl only and guests were given the opportunity to experience The Original, in an original way, with an authentic vinyl record of their choice, sitting back to listen through their own individual headphones, before joining back in with other guests at the party.
Taking place on Thursday and Friday night last week, the launch saw the city’s finest and most ‘original’ turn out for the events, part of the brewer’s ‘If You Know, You Know’ campaign, with Leeds the only city to have a bespoke in-person experience.
The beer brand had partnered with local creatives from across the city to help launch its ‘If You Know, You Know’ campaign, and provide entertainment during the exclusive event.
Local DJ and vinyl enthusiast, Harry Rook, of independent stations; Jorvik, Alto and Voices Radio provided the music, with a vinyl only DJ set.
Local artist and Leeds favourite, Kieran Hadley, of Third Eye Signs, produced a live mural using whisky casks, the same used to brew The Original, which party-goers were able to watch come to life over the course of both evenings.
Guests also enjoyed a tasting masterclass, pairing chocolate from Leeds chocolatier Lauden Chocolate, with some of Innis & Gunn’s award-winning beers, including The Original, Lager Beer and Caribbean Rum Cask.
For those looking to experience a taste of The Original, it can be purchased from all major supermarkets and Innis & Gunn’s online shop www.innisandgunn.com
