A tearoom in the heart of Tadcaster is preparing to re-open under new ownership.
The Lemon Tree on High Street recently changed hands over the Christmas break and will open back up tomorrow with a new look.
Jane and Geoff Derham from Selby are looking forward to welcoming customers old and new when they re-open at 9am tomorrow on Wednesday, January 8th.
Jane, whose dream has always been to run her own tea room is looking forward to sharing her love of home baking with Tadcaster residents.
She said: “I can’t wait to get going and to welcome everyone through the door. We’ve changed the menu slightly, focusing more on light bites, platters and homemade cake. We’ll also be offering specials, a quiche of the day, and speciality teas and coffee.”
Jane was diagnosed with coeliac disease in the summer of 2015 and quickly discovered that eating out came with these issues.
Reflecting on her own experiences, Jane has designed the whole menu so that almost everything can be adapted to be gluten free.
“I want people to be able to enjoy everything, even if they are coeliac,” she said. “I know how difficult it is to go out and find something on a menu that you want to eat, without being limited to just the one item that is gluten free.”
The Lemon Tree will maintain the same opening hours and days as it previously did when it re-opens at 9am on Wednesday, January 8th.
The new telephone number for any enquiries is 07562 230577.
